Monsarrat's autobiography, about his childhood, family, schools, his early attempts at writing books & plays, the theatre, ending in the late 1930's when he was nearly 27 years old. 534 pages. 32 b./w. photographs Near fine, no inscription or marks, but previous owner taped (with brown tape).on back endpage a 4 page article from Daily Telegraph Magazine, by Monserrat (c. 1976) describing how he came to write "The Cruel Sea." The tape has left 2 small marks. Corners of cover bumped , & ends of spine slightly worn. D./w. worn & torn on edges & corners, otherwise very good. 22 cm. x 14.5cm. 1966

Books are posted only after payment is received. Please say if you prefer insured post. Postage in UK is by 1st class, overseas is by surface unless airmail is requested. I post to most places in the world.

If a customer finds a book ordered from me is not as described, then within 14 days he can return it for a full refund, but only if I consider its in the same condition as when I posted it. He must have proof of posting, & should also notify me first.
